ONLINE COUNSELLING ACROSS THE UK

FAQs

What issues can I talk about in counselling?

You can bring anything that’s on your mind. People often come to counselling for support with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, depression, grief, relationship challenges, or life transitions. But you don’t need to have a specific “problem” to benefit, sometimes it’s simply about making sense of how you’re feeling or finding space to reflect.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone’s journey is different. Some people find a few sessions are enough to bring clarity, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll regularly review how things are going to make sure the pace and length of therapy feel right for you.

What days and times do you offer sessions?

I aim to be flexible and will do my best to find a time that works around your schedule, including evenings and weekends. We can discuss availability together during the consultation or once you get in touch.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

All sessions are held online, which means I can work with clients across the UK. Many people find online counselling just as effective as in-person work, and more convenient too.

What happens in the free consultation?

This is a 15-minute Zoom call where you can tell me a bit about what’s brought you to counselling, ask any questions, and get a sense of whether we might work well together. There’s no pressure or obligation to book ongoing sessions.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I’ll ask a few gentle questions to understand what’s brought you to counselling and what you’d like to focus on. We’ll also talk through practicalities, such as confidentiality and how we’ll work together.

What if I’m not sure how to start?

That’s completely normal. You don’t need to have the perfect words or a clear goal. Just showing up is enough. We can take things at your pace, and I’ll support you in finding the words as we go.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

I understand that things come up. If you need to cancel or rearrange your session, please give at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged the full session fee.

What qualifications do you have?

I’m a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. I’m also currently undertaking a Level 5 qualification in Relational Counselling with Relate, which supports my work with couples. You can read more about my background on the About Me page.
